WHO I SUPPORT

I welcome adults (18+) of all identities and backgrounds. I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming, fat positive, sex positive, and spiritually and culturally sensitive therapist. I support clients of all abilities, and am happy to work with individuals who are in non-monogamous relationships. I do not see couples and families for therapy, but may include an individual’s support person/people in their care at their request (such as a support education/collaboration session, or providing resources).

MODALITIES

The way I practice is integrative and flexible, meaning that I incorporate multiple modalities into my practice to best support each person depending on their intentions for therapy and needs.

art therapy

is about imagination and creativity; a way to explore new or different perspectives or possibilities. How often this translates into actual art making is totally up to you, every single session. Sometimes this means that we won’t use art making at all, but we may discuss symbolism or talk in metaphor. And making art in session can look like a lot of things: an ongoing project, keeping your hands busy, exploring/processing something specific, or going with the flow and seeing what happens! How much we talk during art making is also your decision. And don’t worry about getting special materials - we can always work with whatever you already have. However, if you’re interested in obtaining more materials, I’m happy to talk about accessible options.

Art making skills are not at all necessary to participate in or benefit from art therapy. The beauty of art therapy is that it can be for anyone. And art making is never a requirement to work together. If you have any questions of art therapy, I’m happy to answer them during our consultation.

talk therapy

is what most people think of when they think of therapy. My style is very conversational, laid back, relational, and humanistic. My goal is to create an affirming and comfortable environment for us to explore things at your pace, and to help you uncover skills and tools to navigate life’s challenges and triumphs. Laughter can be great medicine, and I love incorporating humor and playfulness in sessions when appropriate. If there is anything specific that helps you in sessions (like a specific check-in routine, homework, etc.), feel free to let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
